Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does my child have to have artistic talent to be accepted?
-No. Only the openess to try new things. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis & there is no aptitude testing required.

2. Do we have to live in Santa Ana for my child to attend?
-No. We accept students who live outside Santa Ana.

3. Does it cost anything for my child to attend?
-No. We are a public charter school funded through the State.

4. Is volunteering required?
-Yes. Families are required to volunteer 3 hours per trimester per student. Studies show that children of actively involved parents do better academically.

5. Do you sell lunch?
-Yes. We participate in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program for qualifying families and lunch is of course available for purchase by all students as well as family members who would like to have lunch with their children.

6. What is your affiliation with OCHSA?
-We have an unofficial partnership which allows us to share resources.

7. Do you have a PTA/PTO?
-We have a PTO type of organization called Families Supporting OCEAA (FSO). Our focus is to provide funds and support to the school for things that might otherwise not be funded.  We were able to raise half the funds for our new playground structure in our first year.  The Leadership Team of the Families Supporting OCEAA (FSO) meets monthly with general family school meetings approximately every other month.

8. Do all students participate in the Spanish/English Dual Immersion Program?
-No. Only those who register for that program. We also offer a K-8th grade traditional English-only program.

9. Do you have after school care?
-Yes. We have a fee-based after school program available until 6pm on school days.
